Farbman Announces He Will Seek HYDC's Presidency Against Winans

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

David Z, Farbman '60, chairman of the Policy Committee of the Young Democratic Club, will run against Derek T. Winans '60 for the presidency of the HYDC. Winans, former president of the club, had been unopposed prior to Farbman's declaration.

In a statement last night, Farbman explained that he felt "the records of the present administration and of the administration's candidate leave a great deal to be desired." The former situation, with only one presidential candidate, presupposed a unanimity which in fact did not exist within the club, be said.

Fred M. Leventhal '60, president of the organization, defended his regime, declaring that "dissatisfaction is not nearly as great us Farbman imagines." Answering charges of inactivity, Leventhal stated that "there are more members taking part in more projects than ever before."

Winans answered Farbman's challenge to a debate, by saying, "I have yet to receive a personal offer," and he asserted his willingness to "discuss the issues."
