The varsity squash team will prolong its latest winning streak this afternoon at 3:30 in Hemenway Gymnasium when it plays a weak Amherst squad. In the past, the Amherst match has always provided the varsity with a breathing spot on its schedule, and this year will be no exception.
However, according to varsity coach Jack Barnaby, this may not be the case for long. Under the tutelage of new squash and tennis coach Ed Serrues, Amherst has been rebuilding its racquet sports with notable success. Last spring their tennis varsity defeated the Crimson for the first time in history. Serrues has already elicited a great deal of interest in squash, and Barnaby suspects that in coming years the Amherst team will be more and more a threat to the Crimson.
This afternoon, however, Amherst will not have the depth or experience to cope with the Crimson's powerful forces. The varsity will use its usual lineup, with captain Charlie Hamm at number one, followed by Gerry Emmet, Pete Lund, Tim Gallwey, Fred Vinton, John Davis, Tony Lake, Wally Stimpson and Charlie Poletti.
