Wrestlers Seek Second Ivy Win

Still seeking its second Ivy League victory of the season, the varsity wrestling team travels down to Providence today to take on a fairly strong Brown squad.

The Bruins, coached by Ralph Anderton, own an early-season victory over Pennsylvania and a tie with Princeton; both these teams beat the varsity by narrow margins. Brown, however, was defeated by Columbia, a team the Crimson swamped by 24-8.

Bob Foster, his unbeaten streak now at eight for this season, will start at 177, probably facing Gene Roberts. Brown's strongest wrestler is captain Lou Winner, a 167-pounder who will meet the varsity's King Holmes. Crimson captain Joe Noble, his record now 8-1, will take on John Moyle at 157.

Another of Brown's stronger men, George Seaver, will face John Watkins at 137. Nick Estabrook, returning to action at 147, meets the Bruins' Gene Bouley, while Dave Skeels, at 123, wrestles Ralph Lincoln. Carl Kludt at 130 and heavyweight Ted Robbins, winner of six in a row, round out the Crimson line-up, facing Dick Seibel and Art Giorgini, respectively.

Brown has lost to league-leading Cornell and to Yale, but the varsity can expect a close, tough contest today.
