Varsity Swimmers Will Encounter Weak Brown Squad Here Tonight

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

After virtually clinching second place in the Eastern Intercollegiate Swimming League by turning back a strong Dartmouth team last week, the Crimson should have no difficulty defeating Brown tonight at the I.A.B. at 8:30.

As is the case in nearly every swimming meet, the Crimson's opponents possess talent in some events--but, in the Bruin's case--only a little talent. Star sprinter Ed Nicholson, is the major threat on the Bruin squad.

Nicholson should give sophomore Bruce Hunter a tough contest in both the 50 and 100-yard freestyles. Against Navy, Nicholson was clocked at 23.1 sec. in the 50. Hunter's best effort this season was 22.8, and the race should be close.

Even without the services of Captain John Hammond--still out with sinus trouble and resting for the Yale meet--the varsity will use its usual lineup. Hunter and Jim Stanley will swim the sprints and breast stroke respectively, while Bill Schellstede will swim in the butterfly.

The Freshman squad will splash off against the Bruins an hour earlier.
