Man Who Managed Clients for High-End Cambridge Brothel Network Pleads Guilty
Battling against the formidable combination of Yale strength and injuries to key Crimson performers, the varsity track squad put on a tremendous display of courage and perseverance before losing to the Bulldogs, 72 1/3 to 55 2/3, last Saturday at New Haven. Princeton was a distant third with nine points.
Dyke Benjamin, barely recovered from a leg injury which has hobbled him all season, ran a splendid 9:28.9 in the two-mile to finish second to John Morrison, who set a Yale and Coxe Cage record of 9:26.3. Benjamin had not been able to run at all until ten days ago, when he began to work out on grass. Competing with virtually no practice, he battled Morrison down to the last laps.
In the 35-lb. weight throw, another injured man, Jim Doty, upset all predictions by winning the event with a 56 ft., 6 1/2 in. heave, just four inches off the University indoor record.
Crimson miler Jed Fitzgerald took first in 4:18.4.
Joel Landau watched Yale's Keith Moore equal the Coxe Cage 60-yard hurdle record of 7.3 in a preliminary heat and then soundly defeated his rival in the final. A University record was tied in a dash heat, when Sandy Dodge covered the 60 yards in 6.3 seconds.
Led by Mark Mullin and Bob Knapp, the Yardlings finished first in their meet with 56 points. Yale was second with 45 1/2, and Princeton registered 34 1/2.
Mullin won the mile and two-mile events. Knapp took thirds in both distances, and in the two-mile relay he caught Princeton's anchor man at the wire after closing a 15-yard gap.
Freshman Ed Bailey set a Yardling record and a possible national freshman standard in the weight throw with a 55 ft., 1 1/2 in. toss.
