Riding a winning streak of three, the varsity wrestling team will go after its second Ivy League victory of the season at the I.A.B. this afternoon at 3:30 p.m., facing an improving Penn squad.
Crimson captain Joe Noble and excaptain Bob Foster, wrestling at 157 and 177 respectively, are both unbeaten this season and will be looking for their sixth victories in a row. Foster, who is slightly injured, is a doubtful starter. Coach Robert A. Pickett says that he is ready, but is not sure whether he will use Foster or Tom Hill.
Other unbeaten Crimson wrestlers are Carl Kludt at 130, victorious in his only start against Dartmouth, and 167-pounder Rick Sullivan, who beat both his Dartmouth and Columbia opponents. Heavyweight Ted Robbins, after losing against Cornell and Franklin & Marshall, has won three in a row and will face Penn's Smith, whom Pickett calls a "pretty good heavyweight."
John Watkins, at 137, faces one of Penn's stronger men in Black and will be looking for his fourth victory against two losses. At 123, Dave Skeels, who sustained one of the varsity's two losses at Columbia last Saturday, will try to get back into the win column at 123. A newcomer to the starting lineup, King Holmes, rounds out the team at 147, replacing the injured Nick Estabrook.
The Quakers dropped their first two league matches, losing by lopsided margins to league-leading Cornell and to a mediocre Brown squad. Last Saturday, however, they surprised unbeaten Princeton, gaining a 14-14 tie. Coach Pickett says Penn "is getting better every week" and expects a close match today.
