In just three days of collection the Combined Charities Dive has equaled the total amount contributed last year. The running total through Wednesday night amounts to $13,127.
Freshman contributions have been particularly outstanding, with Yard donations now totaling $4300, already exceeding last year's final total by over $1000. Lowell House, after a disappointing start, has now moved to first place among the Houses with total gifts of $1395. Other totals through Wednesday are: Kirkland, $1360; Eliot, $1354 (with a high $7.70 average); Dunster, $1196; Leverett, $1190; Winthrop, $1175; Adams, $904; Quincy, $812 (with a low $4.75 average); Claverly, $305; and Dudley, $97.
On the fourth night of solicitation the Charities drive has swept far past its goal to an estimated total of $17,650. Eliot House led last night in House donations, giving an estimated $650 for a $2000 total. The Yard added another $1000 to its contributions, pushing to $5500.
