The first step toward construction of the new Health Center--destruction of the Employees' Clinic and the parking lot next to it--will start on Jan. 1. The clinic will be levelled in preparation for groundbreaking next Spring of the multi-million dollar structure.
Stores facing Mt. Auburn St. and Dunster St. will not be torn down, however, until later in the spring. All the stores have been served eviction notices dated April, and the major part of construction will start at that date.
University employees will use three rooms at 15 Holyoke St. for the duration of the construction.
