Boston Votes 'Collins'; Fluoridation Carries

Register of Probate John F. Collins soundly defeated Senate President John E. Powers last night, 113,776 to 90,175, to become the 49th mayor-elect of Boston since 1770. All precincts reported.

A 21-vote majority endorsed fluoridation of the Cambridge water supply in yesterday's referendum. The voting for 55 precincts was 15,988 to 15,967, with 2324 blank ballots cast.
