Landlords at Yale must sign non-discrimination pledges before the University Housing Board can approve their properties for student residence, the Yale Corporation voted recently.
The pledge, suggested by President A. Whitney Griswold, is similar to the non-discrimination requirement which PBH instituted last fall for its public housing lists. Both Yale and PBH prohibit discrimination on basis of race, creed, or color.
While a general shortage of housing for married students exists at Yale, the problem is most acute for married graduate students from Asia and Africa. Some housing is provided for married medical and divinity students.
