B.C. Downs Yardlings 33-6

Boston College ruined the Freshman football team's hopes for a banner year by thoroughly shellacking the Yardlings 33 to 6 yesterday afternoon at the Stadium.

There was relatively little for Crimson fans to cheer about, although the '63 team completely dominated the second quarter and even managed to score midway in the third period. Behind 13 to 0, the freshmen recovered a fumble about midfield, then started a series of running plays that carried them to the B.C. oneyard line. There, the Eagle defense tightened and Harvard lost the ball on downs.

Just after the Crimson received the kickoff after Boston's third TD, quarterback Terry Bartolet--a talented signal caller, by the way--tossed a 38-yard floated to end Dave Marsh, who was immediately nailed at the B.C. 32. Two plays later Bartolet hit left end Ron Bonebrake, this time, at the five. Bonebrake, who has a name upon which sports publicity men will thrive, raced into the end zone for the touchdown, which amounted to only a consolation prize.
