Leroy Anderson Will Lead Reunion Band In Soldiers Field

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Leroy Anderson '29 will conduct one of the largest musical units ever to play at Soldiers Field when the Band holds its 40th reunion on Dartmouth Weekend, Oct. 24-25.

The modern American composer is one of many former Band greats who will return to march, three to four hundred strong, during the halftime show.

Plans for a lively weekend include a picnic, a banquet and dance, and a round-the-clock bar. Some alumni will also play in the annual Dartmouth Concert, given Friday night before the game.

Anderson will conduct his own Second Dartmouth Medley and his arrangement of Wintergreen for President.

Other returning Band members include Frederick L. Reynolds '20, founder of the Band, Guy V. Slade '32, its first drill-master, and John W. Green '28, composer of Body and Soul.
