A discreetly worded petition asking that parietal hours for freshmen be extended on Saturday nights until 11:30 p.m. has gathered almost unanimous support of the Class of 1962, according to Alexander Korns '62, who sponsored the motion when it first came up before the Freshman Council.
Over 1000 signatures, representing 95 per cent of the Yard population and 39 students in Dudley, approved the request for this new "experiment" in freshman parietals.
If the new petition, which will be acted on by the Faculty in the next few weeks, is approved, there will be extended parietal hours on the condition tended parietal hours on the condition that at least three couples be in a given room during the evening and that "there be normal lighting in all rooms at all times."
