Sign-Up Ends Friday For Tennis Tourney; $2 Deposit Required

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Tomorrow is the last day on which students may enter the Summer School Tennis Tournament. Entrants pay a $2 deposit, which will be refunded at the end of the tournament, and must reserve a court no later than 12 noon on the intended day of play. If a court is reserved at a later time, students must pay for playing time over an hour.

Matches will be played on the Soldiers Field varsity tennis courts with no umpires in the early rounds. They will be determined on a best-of-three basis, except the final rounds of the men's singles and doubles, which will be on the basis of best-of-five.

The winner of each match must file the results at Grays 1. Players are cautioned that failure to comply with this rule will warrant dismissal from the tournament. Students must arrange hours in the early rounds and bring a new can of tennis balls to their first match. Scores will be posted in Grays Hall and the results will be published in the Summer News.
