Cries from students longing to study in Lamont on Saturday and Sunday mornings have been heard and answered by the administration of the Summer School.
A place in the Union dining hall will be made available for studying on these days from 12 noon to 8 p.m., beginning this weekend. If there is a demand for longer hours, Miss Catherine Williston, Social Director, noted this week, hours will be extended. Past experience, however, has indicated that this probably will not be necessary.
These new hours will also hold for the Union common rooms, where television, magazines, and materials for the playing of bridge abound. "We should like to encourage good bridge playing up there," Miss Williston said, adding that goods cards, bridge pads, and other essentials for the game are readily accessible.
The Union will be the scene of the first mixer dance of the summer tomorrow night, when for fifty cents and a Summer School Card one may enjoy co-educational entertainment and Summer School punch.
In the same building next Tuesday, a square dance, called by Herb Gaudreau to recorded music, will be held. This affair is free, but open only to members of the Summer School.
Another regular feature of summer activities--though not in the Union--is the Sunday afternoon music hour in the Grays Common Room from 4 to 6 p.m.
