Composer in GSAS Wins National Prize

Billy Jim Layton 4G will be among twenty American authors, artists, and composers honored by the National Institute and American Academy of Arts and Letters in New York today.

A cash award of $1500 is attached to these citations by the two institutes. Layton is a composer of orchestral, choral and chamber music. He was graduated from the New England Conservatory of Music and has since studied at the American Academy in Rome, under a three-year fellowship.
