Atomic physics will receive increased emphasis this term in Physics 1, according to Gerald Holton, associate professor of Physics. Holton stressed that current changes carry out a general course policy to keep instruction up-to-date.
Lectures incorporating new information on atom behavior will be designed to better prepare students for further study in the field. Emphasis on electricity and optics will be somewhat lessened as a result.
