Charities Drive May Reach $12,000 Today

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The Combined Charities Drive is just $400 short of its goal, and "success is now within our reach," Co-chairman David Hurwitt '60 reported last night.

A total of $10,888.02 had been collected yesterday afternoon, and evening donations were estimated at $700. Hurwitt predicted that if the drive continues at its present rate it will reach its $12,000 goal by this evening.

Some 800 undergraduates have not yet been contacted. The goal can be exceeded if a large proportion of these students are reached, Hurwitt said.

Lowell, with a total of $1,261.42, is a scant five dollars ahead of Eliot as the individual leader among the Houses. Adams, with $855.66, has collected least.
