Zionist President Hits Omission of Israelis From Mideast Panel

The U.N. Council has made a blunder in failing to invite Israeli speakers to a Middle East conference on Nov. 7-9, Elliot Gershon '61, president of the Harvard Zionists, declared yesterday.

Gershon explained that the U.N. Council was to be host to a conference of International Relations Club Delegates from all over New England. The purpose of the meeting was, he said, to discuss U.S. policy on the Middle East.

The experts, invited to brief the delegation at the conference, included two Arab speakers who would make major addresses, Gershon noted. He stressed that the failure to invite Israeli speakers made consideration of the special questions on the agenda unrealistic.

Among the subjects for discussion is the topic, "Who should keep the peace in the Middle East."

It is unlikely, he felt, that such a question can be dealt with fairly when only one side is represented.
