The Harvard CRIMSON announces the opening of its first annual Kampus Kutie Kontest to choose eight Radcliffe undergraduate as cheerleaders at home football games.
The girls selected for the 1958 season will compose the Women's Auxiliary Cheering Squad, to make its debut at the Yale game, Nov. 22 in the Stadium. The Kuties will, it is hoped, provide a more attractive substitute for the beleaguered Harvard Cheerleading Squad and act as a permanent solution in the dispute between the cheerleaders and the Undergraduate Athletic Council.
Every undergraduate organization regularly chartered by the University and every House Committee is asked to nominate its sweetheart and submit her name, college address and telephone number to the CRIMSON office before 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14.
Entrants must be undergraduates at Radcliffe College. It is suggested that the nominees practice the various Harvard cheers and songs, as decisions will be made on the basis of cheerleading talent only.
