The Phillips Brooks House Association blood drive is rapidly assuming record proportions, Richard E. Rubenstein '59, president of the Association, announced yesterday.
Over 1,450 pledges have been received, Rubenstein said, and another 200 pints pledged would assure this year's campaign the distinction of having solicited the most actual donations in the blood drives history.
Rubenstein stated that no previous drive has ever resulted in more than 1,000 donations. At least 1,600 pledges are necessary to guarantee a yield of this size, he noted, since a 40 per cent discrepancy between pledges and contributions has been the rule in the past.
Students wishing to give blood in December may still sign up at Phillips Brooks House during the coming week.
