Radcliffe's new publication, Percussion, replaced the News yesterday with a tabloid-size weekly, featuring major changes in format and content.
Published by members of the former News staff, the new paper will attempt "to inform and entertain" Radcliffe students with features and research articles concerning the academic and social life of the entire University.
Noting that "As far as the general run of public opinion goes, Harvard is a school for long-haired, intellectual, effeminate men," Percussion said the public characterized Radcliffe girls as "bespectacled, gruff-voiced, manly females."
One of the features in the Percussion's first issue contained comments on the CRIMSON'S Kampus Kutie Kontest. "Radcliffe cheerleaders? It's a gruesome thought," the newspaper claimed.
In conclusion, the writer prophesied that any girl foolish enough to enter the KKK would wind up "hung from Moors Clock by one long and black stocking."
