Arkansas' Governor Orval Faubus has announced the cancellation of his scheduled speech at a Ford Hall forum on Sunday, citing "pressing affairs of state" as the reason for his withdrawal.

Arthur M. Schlesinger, Jr. '38, professor of History, has been named to replace him, with a speech on "America's Future." In confirming his appearance, Schlesinger added that he was "not surprised" at the Governor's cancellation.
