Newt H. Wayland '62 has organized a 14 piece jazz group called the "Twen Waylin Band."
Wayland, who led the "Wailin' Eight" band in California for three years, said, "All the music I've written has never been adequately performed. Now I have great hopes that it shall be."
Students have contributed a total of $125 toward the music, uniforms, and stands necessary to operate the band. Wayland said that contributors will be reimbursed by revenue from future engagements.
