Pilot Renovation Work Starts in Thayer North

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Two Thayer North suites will adopt the "new Yard look" within the next few weeks, as members of the Buildings and Grounds Department try different schemes for revamping the entry closed this fall.

The renovation scheme encompasses "more than redecoration," Dean von Stade commented. New plumbing, heating, and wiring will be installed. Linoleum will be placed on the floors, and acoustic tile may be used for the ceilings. Bathroom facilities will also be upgraded.

The Thayer rooms will have enlarged closet space, flush doors, and harmonious decoration. Bulletin boards, fire extinguishers, and public telephones will be combined in the decor.

After preliminary work on the two model suites is completed, the rest of the entry will be rehabilitated as quickly as possible. Arthur D. Trottenberg '48, Director of Operating Services, set a target deadline of four months.
