H.Y.D.C. Spurns Clinton Aid Fund

"The Young Democrat Club will not assist the Liberal Union in its fund raising drive to rebuild Clinton High School," Jay F. Leary '60, H.Y.D.C. Secretary, said last night. "The Club merely wants to go on record on the matter," he added.

The H.Y.D.C. adopted a resolution yesterday "deploring the destruction by violence of the public high school of Clinton, Tenn." On Friday the H.L.U. obtained official permission to conduct their University-wide appeal. All Houses and the Union will be canvassed for two nights.

Roger C. Algase '59, H.L.U. President, expects "a favorable reaction" to the drive, citing "the widely known fact that the Clinton school's insurance covered less than 25 per cent of the damage."
