The Union will be kept open Saturdays and Sundays from 2 p.m. to midnight and from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Mondays though Fridays, Joan E. Hartman, Social Director, said Tuesday.
Miss Hartman's announcement followed close on statements from high Summer School officials that students congregating in front of dormitories, which is against Summer School regulations, will be actively discouraged by University Police.
Any group considered noisey or acting in a way which the police feel might disturb other residents of the dormitories, will be broken up by University officers, it was learned.
The reason for the strict enforcement officials said, is the difficulty of establishing parietal rules in a dormitory system not designed for co-education.
