The Drama Lecture Series of the Summer School will deal in three sections with the general topic, "The Theatre in America Today", beginning July 11 when Lee Strasberg of the New York Actors' Guild discusses "The Actor in the Theatre Today," at 8:30 p.m. in New Lecture Hall.
In the second lecture, on August 1, Tyrone Guthrie, who has been associated with the Old Vic Theatre in England and who directed the fall production of "Candide", will consider "The Director in the Theatre Today." This, as well as the final lecture, will also begin at 8:30 P.M. in New Lecture Hall.
Denis Johnston, professor of English at Mount Holyoke College and member of the Summer School Faculty, will conclude the Series August 8 when he discusses "The Playright in the Theatre Today."
All lectures will be open to the public without charge, the Summer School has announced.
