I did not seriously object when one of your reviewers referred in passing to that great Shakespearean tragedy, lago; when your article on "Continentalism" spoke of the noise of motor-scooters in the streets of Venice," I smiled indulgently; but when your reviewer pans For Whom the Bell Tolls in spite of the fact that he has been obviously dazzled by Gary Cooper's performance as Cary Grant, this is too much!
