A debate team composed of James L. Kincaid '58 and David L. Bynum '59 placed among the top eight at the National Debate Tournament held at West Point over the weekend. This represented the best showing that any Harvard entrant has made since the debaters first entered the tournament in 1953.

They survived eight preliminary rounds which pared the original field of 36 teams down to 16. They were finally beaten in the quarter finals, after having upset second-seeded St. Joseph's College in the first round of the final eliminations.
