The current PBH blood drive threatens to be "the worst in history," unless walkin donors can augment the donations scheduled this week, Stanley B. Lyss '58, chairman of the PBH drives committee, said yesterday.
Only 264 pints--slightly over half the amount scheduled to be donated--had been received yesterday afternoon. Lyss urged students to visit the University Lutheran Church between 10:45 a.m. and 5 p.m. even if they have no appointment. He also requested that scheduled donors keep their appointments promptly.
Lyss added that one Boston hospital had to delay an operation for two days, until Harvard students could supply six pints of O-negative type blood yesterday.
