Nine Will Meet B.U. in Attempt For 3 Straight

Seeking their third straight Greater Boston League victory, the Harvard nine will meet Boston University at 3 p.m. today on Soldiers Filed. Today's game is a make-up on the one originally scheduled for last Saturday which was cancelled because of cold weather.

Coach Norm Shepard, faced with the problem of finding new pitching talent this year, and encountering his first three-game week will send either or both Bob McGinnis and Dave Brigham to the hill today.

Coach Harry Cleverly of B.U. will counter with his ace hurler, sophomore Bill Possiel. Possiel showed good form in his only outing to date, beating Northeastern 16 to 0.

B.U. Holds 3-0 Record

Although B.U. has been plagued by the lack of indoor training this Spring, resulting in some shoddy fielding, it boasts a record of 3 and 0 coming into today's game. The Terriers have beaten M.I.T., 7 to 6, and squeezed by Northeastern yesterday, 5 to 4. In spite of comparative scores which favor Harvard, Possiel's fine showing against Northeastern could indicate a surprise.

McGinnis received both poor fielding and hitting in his start against Richmond, pitching four innings and allowing two earned runs, striking out four and walking four. Against M.I.T. McGinnis allowed three earned runs, gave up five hits, five passes while striking out three.

Crimson Lineup Changed

Brigham has been more successful. He allowed one earned run after relieving McGinnis at Richmond, and against M.I.T., again relieving McGinnis, he allowed only one hit, holding Tech scoreless over the last three frames.

The Crimson will probably stick with the same lineup that has started in the last two wins. Although this lineup garnered just seven hits against Tufts, the hits were timely with only two men failing to hit safely.

Haughey, who was supposedly a weak hitter seems assured of his starting position, having hit well since the team's return from the South. He will be behind the plate to receive either McGinnis or Brigham.
