Rugby Team Meets New York Players

The Crimson will play its first hard Eastern Rugby League match of the season this afternoon when it meets the New York Club on the House Football Field at 3:45 p.m. The same clubs will field second teams for a 2:30 p.m. curtain-raiser.

Just back from its semi-successful Bermuda tour, the Crimson has a season's record of 2-2 overall. It whipped M.I.T. in its only other League game.

The New York Club also has an even record this season, having lost narrowly to Princeton and beaten Wall Street. Its greatest strength lies in the experience of its players, many of whom are Britons working in New York. With an average age of about 30, it wins the oldest-local-rugby-team title by a comfortable margin.

The Crimson will be back at almost full strength today, after playing several reserves in its Bermuda games. Only John Chalsty will be missing from the lineup, and the vacation seasoning should be enough to ensure a win this afternoon.
