The number of meals eaten by freshmen in the Houses during last month's introductory program increased more than 50 percent from last year, William A. Heaman, Manager of the Dining Halls Department, has announced.

Eliot House showed the most substantial increase as freshmen consumed 1430 meals there, a gain of 88 percent over last year. Adams House retained its number-one position, however, despite a relatively small increase, as freshmen ate over 2,000 meals there during the March period.

Still the least popular House among visitors was Leverett, which served 204 more meals this year to increase its total to 830.

In addition to Eliot, Kirkland and Win-gains in the number of diners.
