An independent group of College students will give a performance of Jean Genet's "Deathwatch" at the off-Broadway Cherry Lane Theatre on Monday, April 8, at 8:40 p.m. This performance will be part of the theatre's impromtuseries that brings in different plays each Monday.

Tonight at 10 p.m. the group will represent Harvard at the Yale Drama Festival in the Yale theatre.

Colgate Salsbury '57, D.J. Sullivan '57 and Harold Scott '57 from the original cast will play in the New York performance. The only substitution will be Dean Gitter '56 for Robert Hesse '57 as the jailer. Gitter had the lead role of Willy Loman in the HDC production of "Death of a Salesman" last year.

The play's director, Stephen Aaron '57, said that he hoped the production could go on a 12-week tour on the summer circuit. He said that it was also possible that they could have an eight-week run in New York next fall.

"Deathwatch," which deals with three prisoners in a death cell, ran at the Pi Eta Theatre from March 6-12.
