Harpel Will Seek New Weight Mark

Attention will focus on Pete Harpel's last chance at the Crimson 35-pound weight record this evening in the University of Connecticut Relays at Storrs.

Harpel has topped the record of 56 feet 10 1/2 inches several times in practice, but never in competition. This will be his last indoor meet.

Otherwise, the varsity track team is sending only a token entry to the eleven team meet. None of the other Eastern track powers is expected to be represented.

Coach pro-tem Al Gordon has entered himself in both the distance medley relay and the two-mile relay. He will run the half mile in the former, with Bob Weil running the quarter, Bill Thompson the three-quarters, and Dave McLean the mile. Thompson will join Gordon in the two-mile relay, with Dave Spinney and French Anderson.
