Straus South defeated Thayer Middle last night, 30 to 21, to win the freshman second semester intramural basketball championship.
The Straus team, champions of the American League, held a comfortable lead over the National League champs throughout the game. Bill Bradshaw and Joe Julian spear-headed the third quarter drive which clinched the game for Straus South. Gordon Wade led the Thayer Middle defense.
The second semester champions will meet Grays, the first term champs, in a playoff contest next week. The winner of that game will net 135 points in the contest for the freshman intramural championship in all sports.
