If Phillips Brooks House assumes control of the Combined Charities Drive, the outcome can be no worse than that of this year's listless campaign. Indeed, it will probably be a great deal better. In contrast to the scattered forces and the smattering of enthusiasm mustered by the Council-appointed committee, PBH has a large, active membership which is genuinely interested in charitable activities. Moreover, PBH has a personal stake in the Combined Charities Drive as nearly half its funds come from the campaign.
The Student Council appears to have recognized the failure of this year's drive ($7,200 or half the quota and a third of the 1951 total). The Council should now recognize the obvious merit of the PBH offer.
