Medical School Gets $48,000 for Research

The Adler Foundation, Inc., has granted the Medical School $48,000 to finance a three-year program devoted to the strengthening of teaching and research in the field of carbohydrate metabolism and diabetes, Dean George P. Berry announced.

Dr. Albert Renold, Associate in Medicine at the Medical School and director of the laboratory and metabolism ward of the Department of medicine, Peter Bent Brigham Hospital, will direct the program. Dr. Renold has contributed significantly to the fundamental knowledge concerning utilization of carbohydrates in the body.
