The Harvard Rifle team placed second in the opening match of its season, Saturday. In a triangular meet the Crimson marksmen outshot Dartmouth, 1399 to 1345, but could not match MIT's 1417.

Captain Lanse Fair, scoring 283 out of 300 points, led his team to Harvard's highest score since a 1400 in the Ivy League championship two years ago. He said, "I am pleased by the squad's showing and think that we can break the Varsity record of 1406 this season."
