A prowler attempted to enter Coggle-shall House at Radcliffe Monday night, but escaped before the police arrived.
Mrs. Harris H. Coggleshall, head resident, telephoned the police about 9 p.m., when she heard the burglar alarm on the fire escape. Before the police arrived, a neighbor, the Rev. C. Howard Wallace, pursued the man for about three blocks, but could not overtake him.
Wallace stated that he saw the prowler climb up to the third floor, pause, and hurry down when he found the door locked. He described him as being about 18 years old, with a leather jacket and an Elvis Presley hair cut.
"He did not look like a Harvard student--at least not like the conventional Harvard student," Wallace asserted.
A similar incident occurred at Coggle-shall three weeks ago.
