Crimson Invites World-Weary, All Others to Competition Meeting

Comp Opens Tonight

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Each year at this time the Harvard CRIMSON, crying out in a bleak wilderness of Lamontism, issues a call for candidates. Positions are open for all students on the news, photographic and business boards. Free beer and coke will be served to all those interested, as well as those not interested, at 14 Plympton St. this evening.

In years past the CRIMSON competition has known such men as Franklin D. Roosevelt, James Bryant Conant and David Riesman. There is no guarantee, of course, that if one enters the CRIMSON competition one will become a Hero; indeed it is probable that you will not become a Hero.

What is guaranteed, however, is extensive training in news writing for aspiring newshawks, a ten-week lesson in the fine points of photography, or a brief excursion into high finance.

It is difficult to say what should decide whether or not a man should enter the competition. If, for instance, you do not recognize any of the names mentioned above, the CRIMSON will provide you with an opportunity to at least learn the names of famous old Crimeds.
