Johanson Injured

Crimson quarterback Ron Johanson was discharged from Grace Hospital in New Haven yesterday afternoon. He had been held under observation for a concussion received in Saturday's game.

Johanson sustained the head injury when he returned the ball on the opening kickoff. The injury was not known until eight plays later, when Johanson informed the team physician, Dr. Thomas Quigley, that three teeth had been loosened. Quigley immediately removed him from the game and sent him to Grace Hospital.

Johanson returned to Cambridge last night but said, "All I remember was the kickoff, and that I returned it. I remember that the first play was a screen pass, and later on I recovered my own fumble."

The first indication of Johanson's condition came on the extra point after the first Yale touchdown. The Crimson line had opened a hole for the safety men to block the kick. When Johanson merely remained standing motionless, the Crimson coaches asked the umpire to check Johanson, who then complained of his loosened teeth.
