The soccer team plays at Penn today in what should prove a one-sided contest. At nearly full strength after last Saturday's hard-fought win over Dartmouth, the Crimson will have to guard its tendency to fall down against weaker teams like Penn, which has lost all its Ivy League games.
Two injured defensemen keep the team from starting an entire first-string lineup. Goalie Jim Perkins should be ready by next weekend's Princeton game. Tom Bagnoli replaces Perkins in today's game, as he has for the last three.
A back injury still hampers fullback Cris Provenson, who could not play last Saturday, and made only the last two days of practice this week. Should Provenson find game play too demanding, reserve Charlie Steele will see action beside regular Lanny Keyes.
The halfback and forward lines stand intact. Marsh Schwartz, Tony Ober-schall, and John Felstiner, together with reserves Bill Rapp and Pete Erskine form the halfback strength which keyed Saturday's win.
Lack of travelling space to Penn has pared the forward line down to a minimum comfortable working size. Regulars Larry Ekpebu, Tom Bernheim, John Hedreen, Captain Jim Shue, and Ken McIntosh can count on the aid of only three reserve forwards.
Crimson to Meet Andover
The freshman soccer team, trying for its second win of the season, will meet Andover here today. Previously, the Crimson has defeated Dartmouth, tied Tufts and M.I.T., and lost to Exeter.
Coach Dana Getchell reports that the team is at full strength, and that the muddy weather will not considerably affects the team's play.
