Minor Thefts Noted In College Buildings

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

A wave of small thefts has been sweeping through several buildings of the University, Police Chief Matthew J. Toohy stated yesterday.

Toohy said that money has been taken from secretaries and other workers in Andover Hall, several biology buildings, and Weld Hall. The thefts were not large, Toohy stated, but "ten or fifteen dollars is a lot to a working girl."

The police department is having trouble tracking down the thefts, Toohy said, because notification is often given weeks after the robberies occur.

Toohy warned workers not to leave valuables in offices when they leave, even if they are to be gone only for a few minutes.
