Kirkland edged Leverett in a 7 to 6 thriller yesterday to remain one game behind Dunster in the House football league. Duane Hooker wiped out a 6 to 0 Leverett lead in the third period when he intercepted a pass to make a 70-yard touchdown run, and Dick Nye converted for the winning point.
In soccer, Dunster blanked Kirkland 4 to 0, booting home all its tallies in the second half, while six Winthrop men held seven Lowell players to a one to one tie.
Grays Hall did without any gift safeties yesterday as it won the freshman intramural football title by topping Hurlbut 33 to 25. The game was replayed after Hurlbut protested last week's 8 to 6 Grays win.
Charlie Lockwood quarterbacked the winners and participated in all five touchdowns.
