Furcolo Forms Group To Give Scholarships

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Governor Foster Furcolo spurred a $1,000,000 scholarship program for Massachusetts students yesterday by the formation of the Massachusetts Educational Foundation. Furcolo announced that the money, to be used for scholarships and loans for a college education, would come from private contributions.

Members of the foundation will include distinguished individuals from various business and professional fields. Furcolo added that he hoped that Massachusetts would become the first state in which "no qualified person will be deprived of a higher education because of the lack of money."
