Daily Divinity Chapel To Have Set Service

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The Worship Committee of the Divinity School is taking steps to end what one Divinity student termed "the vicious practice of using prayers to deliver sermons" in the daily morning service in Andover Chapel.

At present, the leader, a Divinity School student or faculty member, creates his own service. The Worship Committee has written a set service to be used during Advent.

The Committee hopes a monthly service will allow worshippers to become familiar with the meaning of the prayers, borrowed from various liturgies, and that it will counter the present tendency to overemphasize the sermon.
