Annex Shield Society Will Conduct Visitors Through Yard, Quad

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The Radcliffe Shield Society, a group similar to the Crimson Key, came into being this week when the Annex Student Council established a visitor's organization.

Student guides will receive salaries from the College and membership in the society, a sub-committee of the Student Council.

The Council will select the Shield chairman, and the Annex Administration will pick approximately 15 other members from applicants for the job. The guides will wear emblems bearing the official Radcliffe shield, the Council decided.

The new group will guide prospective students and other visitors around the Radcliffe Yard and Quad only. One Council member reported that when her parents took a tour of the University, "the boy guiding them just waved his hand in the general direction of Radcliffe. I expect we could do the same for Harvard."
