The undefeated Yardling football team conquered Dartmouth, 13-6, at Hanover Saturday, to take its first victory over the Big Green in seven years.
The two freshman touchdowns came Terry Lenzner, captain of last year's undefeated Exeter eleven, spearheaded a stout Crimson defense that kept the pressure on Dartmouth during most of the contest. His touchdown was the first scored against the powerful line. This victory extended the Yardlings' winning streak to three games. As in the Springfield contest, defense proved the Crimson's strong point, as Lenzner, Bob Pillsbury, and Charlie Nunez continually rushed the Dartmouth passer and often dropped the quarterback for losses. Penalties consistently hurt Harvard, as one touchdown was called back and several long gains nullified. The first half saw most of the action, as the Crimson scored in the first period and again in the second. Dartmouth tallied in the second half.
